[ACGS20, Definition 2.14]

Definition

Let \((C/S, \mathbf p, f)\) be a stable log map. We say \(f\) is basic if at every geometric point \(\overline s\) of \(S\), the map \(Q\to Q' = \overline{\mathcal M}_{S,\overline s}\) defined by the restriction \((C_{\overline s}/\overline {s}, \mathbf p_{\overline s}, f|_{C_{\overline s}})\) is an isomorphism.
